Crime Prevention

Many citizens have been receiving letters and checks in the mail stating they have obtained some money through a contest and they are requested to cash the check and send some of the money to a location.  If anyone received these checks, please do not cash them, this is a way for someone to be able to obtain your personal banking information.  This is not a crime until you cash the check and they actually take some money out of your account.

If you have not entered any contests or are not expecting any money, this is your first sign that this could be a scam.  Shred the letter and check.  Please contact us if you notice any money missing out of your bank accounts.

Now that spring is here, there will be more people out, please lock your vehicles, especially at night.  Last year during this time of the year, several teenagers were walking through neighborhoods checking for unlocked vehicles and stealing items out of them.
